Training/Conditioning Sports Clubs
My name is Cathal O Shea. I have recently developed an athletic training programme for sports clubs in all disciplines which will commence shortly at The Sports Village on The Model Farm Rd. Clubs have always been aware of the need for physical preparation for games but more and more in the recent past statistics show that teams who use professionals in the area of physical preparation achieve more than those who do not. In many cases it is the difference between success and failure. The programme I have designed in The Sports Village is based on my degree in sport and exercise studies, my qualification as a certified strength and conditioning special and not least my practical experience of training teams.

My degree was a 4 year full time course covering anatomy and physiology, sports performance psychology and bio mechanics of movement and nutrition.The degree gives me a comprehensive knowledge of the main factors affecting exercise and elite sports performance. I have extensive knowledge in the area of physical performance, analysing movement and creating a tailor made package to suit the requirements of a variety of teams.
I appointed Cathal O'Shea as Fitness Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist for Cork City Football Club in 2006. Although this arrangement was for an initial period of three months, I quickly realised that this talented man possessed the ability to elevate the fitness levels of my players to another dimension. Over the next two years my belief in Cathal's talent was fully endorsed as he played a crucial role in the development of the players at both junior and senior levels of the club. The reactions of experienced players like Joe Gamble and Colin Healy to the to the style and content of Cathal O'Shea's contribution reflected perfectly the confidence and trust all the players at the club had in their fitness coach.
I also found Cathal to be very professional in his preparations and fully committed in performance and he very quickly adapted to the style of regime I wanted installed at the club. This type of adaptability is of immense importance in a professional football club and I am delighted to add my voice to the many who have extolled the virtues of this top class individual.

Some of my previous clients include Irish international soccer player Kevin Doyle, former Irish internationals Colin Healy (13 caps) and Joe Gamble ( 2 caps) and the range of my work goes as far as junior G.A.A. club players, rugby players and one on one personal training.
